I think i should start calling myself as Internet - savvy. Honestly, who doesn't in this 21st century? I think every one who is exposed to internet are aware of the importance of social networking. I will be surprised if i meet a person who says he/she has never heard the term social networking and if you are aware of the term then probably you run an account on a popular social networking website.
When i think of social networking websites it is quite obvious that every individual country have their own popular social networking website. Since I'm from India and leaving in United Kingdom for quite some time now and when i compare this two countries about the popular social networking websites. India has taken the edge on Orkut and on facebook it stands on 5th place and on the other hand in United Kingdom there is a bit of mixture here cause people use facebook a lot and they have taken 4th position as far as popularity is concerned compared to rest of the world. myspace is also one of the popular social networking website here and talking about orkut not many people uses orkut in UK.

Orkut ROCKS when it comes to social networking website.
I believe Orkut is the most visited website in Brazil and second most visited site in India. Orkut was named after one of the google employees who created this application. Though orkut was launched in the year 2004, a lot of people whom I know have been using it mostly since year 2006 or so. Talking about social networking, I was able to get in touch with a lot of my school friends which I never thought was possible. Thanks to Orkut
After Facebook came up with hundred different creative applications, Orkut had to compete and in return make the page interesting for the users all over the globe. As a result, one can see quite a few privacy, security and entertainment features in Orkut now. Orkut has become so popular in the corporate world that a lot of companies now have banned the use of orkut as it causes lot of distraction, increased traffic and brings down productivity of employees.
